What inspired you to fundraise?
Round the world some 40 million people can be cured by Cataract plus implant operation which costs only 15 pounds/24 dollars; this cost can be shared equally by a Rotary club in recipient country, and donor country and The Rotary Foundation. It only costs 500 pounds to sponsor 100 opn
What did you chose to do and why?
Creating Awareness amongst Rotary clubs and others by showing results of Action
What was involved and did you get much help?
Writing and phoning round to Rotary clubs and others to get invitation to visit them to show results of Action.
Small and moderate amounts soon mounted up to thousands
How many people helped make it happen and did it take long?
30 clubs in 10 districts in UK, plus 2 in France, one in Canada and 3 in USA plus several individuals
What was it like asking for donations, any top tips?
not easy yet this was for a greater benefit to poor and needy
What was your target?
£unlimited rolling programmes each for 15 thousand pounds or more

£over 100000 pounds
Would you do it again?
Rotary clubs in Kolkata region in India have in the last 10 years have already cured many thousands poor blind people; another million or more to be done
What advice would you give to someone wanting to do the same thing?
Get involved actively in the work and feel the joy/happiness of mission accomplished even in small doses; share your happiness with others and motivate others to join in
