Take a good look at this logo...

You're going to be seeing a lot of it!
The Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) was established in 2006 and runs a UK-wide self-regulating scheme for fundraising bodies. Their work is supported by the Office of the Third Sector, the Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly Government.
The aim of the FRSB is "to oversee a transparent and independent scheme for fundraising, encouraging high standards... to increase public confidence in charitable giving."
What does that mean for me?
All charities that are members of the Fundraising Standards Board have agreed to abide by the FRSB's Fundraising Promise, as well as the Institute of Fundraising's Codes of Fundraising Practice.
What this means as a volunteer fundraiser is that if the charity you fundraise in aid of is registered as a member of the FRSB, you can be confident that they have made a commitment to transparency and accountability in the way that they organise themselves and in the way that they fundraise.
So what's the new marque for?
The Institute of Fundraising's Codes and the FRSB's promise are already firmly established and well endorsed amongst professionals in the fundraising sector. The new "Give with confidence" initiative, which is aimed at the general public, sees the FRSB take their mission a step further.
Coupled with the recently-launched website www.givewithconfidence.org.uk the Board hope that the marque will become a publicly recognised symbol of reassurance when it comes to making charitable donations. Member charities can choose to display the new logo on everything from collecting tins to sponsor forms to inspire confident giving from donors - which in turn should help volunteer fundraisers ask for donations with more confidence too.
How can I find out more?
Visit the new "Give with confidence" website at www.givewithconfidence.org.uk.
There's a section of the FRSB website where you can check which charities are members here, and more advice on things you should look for when choosing a charity to fundraise for in our knowhow section here.
