Campaign: Save our Cheques!
Wednesday 04 August 2010

Will the abolition of cheques affect your fundraising?Collecting sponsorship as a volunteer fundraiser can be difficult enough. Online giving sites do a great job, but sponsor forms still have their place; cash and cheque donations currently account for a large percentage of the income raised by volunteers.

How will your potential to raise money for the charities you support be affected by the proposed abolition of cheques in 2018?

Statistics show that some charities receive more that 70% of their income by cheque, which represents a sizeable sum to good causes.

The Institute of Fundraising is in the process of collecting evidence for its Save our Cheques campaign, so if you feel strongly about this, you can help by emailing Louise Richards, Director of Policy and Campaigns at the Institute of Fundraising or asking your charity to support the Institute’s campaign.
