Coin Painting: Introduction
A creative way to collect coins
Created: 13 November 2008
Coin painting takes place over one day. An artist paints a reasonably simple design on the ground (or a canvas) and passers-by are encouraged to place a coin in the appropriate place so that it builds a picture using the colour and shape of the coins.
It is ‘painted’ when either the picture is ‘full’ of coins, or you reach the end of the day or allotted time. You take photographs at the end for posterity and all the coins are counted up and paid in to the charity.
Simple and engaging.
